A whimsical reimagining of the classic Grimm Brothers’ tale, this series of drawings brings to life the odd trio of a mouse, a bird, and a sausage with gentle humour and emotional texture.

Rendered in watercolour and ink, each illustration plays with expressive linework and soft washes to capture both the charm and quiet tension of the fable.

The story unfolds through carefully composed scenes, where character and setting are shaped by the looseness of brush and the precision of ink. I also created a custom hand-drawn font for the narrative text, allowing image and language to feel organically linked — like something told aloud and quietly illustrated at the same time.
