A DaUgther’s Find
A hand- drawn animation inspired by a true story that explores the journey of metal through time and astral worlds. It visualises the very sentimental and human experience of using material objects to connect with one another.

My aim with this project was to try and express the feeling of sentimentality and nostalgia attached to objects through a narrative.
A Daughter’s Find is hand-drawn cel animation based on a poem written by me. I chose to do a hand drawn animation as I believe a sense of sentimentality and fleetingness of moments can be captured well through the process. I also believe each uniquely created frame translates well into each viewers unique experience with the theme.
The word 'stanza', in italian means 'room'. My aim with the animation was to take each stanza and translate it into an atmospheric experience.
I hoped to translate this written narrative into a visual format and capture the emotions through vivid colours, textures, and visual metaphors.
